The recently launched UDA Party is keen to build a support base by spreading its wings across the country before the 2022 general election.
Speaking during a recent interview, UDA Chairman Johnson Muthama detailed the party’s roadmap leading up to the next general election.
According to Muthama, the first thing is to open offices across the country, conduct party elections then lastly launch the party officially.
In a bid to make the local mwananchi have a stake in the party, Muthama noted that most party positions will be filled by ‘Hustlers’.

“An elaborate plan has been put in place to make the party the big thing in Kenya… We have succeeded in changing the name and already have our headquarters. Now we are in Phase Two where we are set to open offices in all the sub-counties and county headquarters.
“From there, we will elect officials in all our branches to the top leadership. This is the party by the hustlers and for the hustlers and we want them to own and be part of every step and process of the decision-making in the party,” Muthama told a local daily.
One month following its launch, media reports indicate that UDA has already received over 80,000 applications from persons interested to be members of the party.
