The youth chanted anti-BBI songs and attempted to block Odinga, but were dispersed by police.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s BBI rally in Githurai has been temporarily disrupted by rowdy youths believed to be supporters of Deputy President William Ruto.

The youth chanted anti-BBI songs and attempted to pelt stones at Odinga's convoy before they were rebuffed by pro-Odinga's youth and police.

The former premier proceeded with his rally and urged the youth to support the BBI.

While campaigning for BBI, Odinga called out the Jubilee administration for failing to deliver their election pledges urging the residents to say no to wheelbarrows and support the referendum push.

"Nimekuja nichukue memorandum yenu nipeleke kwa serikali. Unyakuzi wa shamba la soko hatutakubali, sasa nitafanya kazi yangu halafu nyinyi muangalie BB - the former premier told the gathering in Githurai.

Odinga addressed and interacted with residents in Githurai, Kiambu County.

"Government will construct a bridge over the railway line to allow Githurai residents cross over. This will be done ahead of the launch of the Githurai Modern Market by President Uhuru Kenyatta," Odinga said while he finalized his rally in Githurai.
