Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Other Cabinet Secretaries on Tuesday, March 11 celebrated Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen’s 45th birthday.
In a statement, DP Gachagua said they took time off from a joint cabinet committee meeting at the official Deputy President’s residence in Karen to celebrate the birthday.
“After the Joint Cabinet Committee Meeting in Karen this afternoon, we took time off to celebrate Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport Kipchumba Murkomen on his Big Day. Happy 45th Birthday, Mr. Murkomen,” Gachagua stated.
In a series of photos seen by Nairobi Leo, DP Gachagua’s staff brought a cake with Murkomen’s initials to the Cabinet Committee meeting.

DP Gachagua and CS Murkomen then proceeded to cut the cake before the Deputy President fed Murkomen.
The Transport CS went on to share the cake with his cabinet colleagues during the short event.
Speaking after the session, CS Murkomen thanked DP Gachagua and his colleagues for the surprise saying he was not expecting it.
“This was a big surprise and I want to thank your Excellence and the cabinet colleagues for the opportunity to celebrate my 45th birthday with you, especially after the incident on Saturday. I want to thank all of you who prayed for us and sent a message, great appreciation.
“This is really a serious surprise I never expected this. Considering I am going to the field now this is the best way to celebrate,” said Murkomen.
