The Public Service Commission (PSC) has clarified reports over the alleged appointment of former Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe.
In a statement dated Thursday, March 14, PSC chairperson Anthony Muchiri dismissed claims that Maribe had been appointed as Head of Communication in the Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management.
Muchiri further clarified that he had not received a request to appoint Maribe as widely reported.
"For the record, the said position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process should a vacancy arise," Muchiri insisted.

Public Service Commission has been compelled to respond after it was widely reported that Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria had appointed Maribe who was recently acquitted in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
The alleged appointment was made public by Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi. Itumbi in his social media statement, did not clarify the position Maribe had earned.
"Congratulations, Jacque Maribe. May God bless you as you serve. Asante Moses Kuria for standing with a generation, please keep doing good and stretching your hand," Itumbi wrote.
Moreover, Kuria did not respond to Itumbi's message on social media announcing the appointment.
Maribe on the other hand, did not respond to claims of her appointment.
Following Public Service's statement, it remains unclear on the exact position Itumbi congratulated Maribe for her alleged appointment.
