The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced traffic disruption along James Gichuru Road.
In a notice, the authority noted that the disruption will start on Thursday, March 14 and will last until Sunday, March 17.
According to KURA, the closure is meant to necessitate routine maintenance. The repairs include recarpeting the road, fixing the drainage and repairing the lighting system along the road.
Heavy traffic jam is anticipated during the cited days. During the four days, KURA has asked motorists to find alternative routes.
"We wish to notify the General Public that there will be Traffic disruption along James Gichuru Road as from 14th- 17th March 2024 (Night Hours) so as to allow the Contractor improve the road. We urge Motorists using that route to exercise caution as we endeavour to Transform Urban Mobility," KURA announced.

James Gichuru Road is a major passage that connects residents from Waiyaki Way, Westlands and Parklands to the Nairobi Central Business District.
The Nairobi Expressway which runs from Mlolongo also ends at James Gichuru Road.
Due to the heavy traffic recorded daily along that route, KURA noted that the contractors will be working at night to minimise disruption.
