President Uhuru Kenyatta has fired a warning shot at students over the current wave over unrest being witnessed in schools across the country.

Through State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena, Uhuru noted that stiff action will be taken against students found guilty of unrest in schools.

“The President notes with great concern to increasing cases of Arson in Schools across the Republic and would like to remind the Perpetrators of the Serious Crimes that the National Police Service working with the Ministry of Education are under His firm instructions to deal decisively with anyone found culpable,” Kanze Dena said.

Uhuru’s warning comes hot in the heels of unrests in schools with the latest institution to be affected being Bungoma High School.

Students from the school reportedly went on rampage on Friday morning before setting one of the dormitories ablaze.

No student was hurt during the inferno, but property of unknown value was destroyed.

So far, seven schools in Bungoma County have be razed down in a span of one week. The schools include; Ndivisi Boys, Chesamisi High, Bukembe, Kimilili Boys, Khasoko Boys and Mbakalo Boys.
