The Jubilee Party has banned Deputy President William Ruto
from using the Party Headquarters to spearhead his 2022 presidential campaigns.
Addressing the media on Friday, Jubilee Party Secretary
General Raphael Tuju accused Ruto of using the party’s headquarters in Pangani,
Nairobi to operationalise his 2022 campaign.
"We would like to be absolutely clear, that we serve one President at a time. The DP, a self-declared 2022 presidential candidate, will not be allowed to use the party HQ as a centre of operationalization of his campaigns and for intimidation," Tuju said.
"The NMC has resolved that the Deputy President will not use the party headquarters for his brand of so called hustler politics. We will not allow an attempted power grab as happened yesterday," he added.

He further noted that DP Ruto's visit to the party's office on
Thursday October 1, 2020 in the company of his allies almost caused a
confrontation with MPs from the rival Kieleweke faction.
"Yesterday, the DP turned up at the party headquarters with more than 30 MPs, many of them known abusers of the president...foul-mouthed MPs that are on record attacking government projects like Huduma Namba. That move almost created an ugly confrontation.
"This country is bigger than this party. We pledge our
support and loyalty to President Uhuru Kenyatta until the end of his term, and
we will not countenance any attempted power grab as was witnessed
yesterday," Tuju noted.
Ruto and allies visit Jubilee Headquarters
On Thursday Ruto and his allies pitched camp at the party
headquartes in Pangani.
Addressing the press outside Jubilee headquarters, the
leaders noted that they are members of Jubilee and have every right to be at
the party’s headquarters.
