Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Monday night raised concern over the grilling of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Sonko appeared at the DCI headquarters on Monday for questioning over claims he made last week against Interior PS Karanja Kibicho.
This was after the Ex-Nairobi Governor claimed that in 2017 during ODM demonstrations, he and Kibicho printed ODM t-shirts and bought vehicles from showrooms that were burnt in Ngong road to frame ODM protesters.

"PS Kibicho recorded statement and within 2 hours had been released by @DCI_Kenya. How come @DCI_Kenya is still holding @MikeSonko this late ? Can’t the two be treated equally ? Unless this is a confirmation that Kibicho is DCI and DCI is Kibicho," Murkomen tweeted.
Last week on Thursday, PS Kibicho recorded a statement at the DCI headquarters over the allegations made by Sonko.
"Sonko has continued assassination of my character since he left the seat..As a private citizen I have broken the cycle and decided enough is enough…He has made very very wild allegations against me…Sonko should give answers and say where we were in 2017 together with him…He better be prepared, he has admitted to committing crime…He will deal with my character assassination…I’m going for him this week," the PS said after he recorded the statement.
Reports indicate that Sonko might spend the night at the Gigiri police station cells after being grilled over claims he made.
