“Male applicants continued to dominate placement to Degree programmes, sustaining a trend that has been observed since the beginning of the central placement system."

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has released university and TVET placement results for the 2023 KCSE candidates.

Speaking on Tuesday, May 21 during the release of the placement results at the Edge Convention Centre in Nairobi KUCCPS CEO Agnes Wahome said 85 percent of the 2023 KCSE candidates who scored C+ and above made applications.

Wahome noted that 76.2 percent of the applicants opted for Degree courses while the rest (11,991) opted for Diploma courses.

“Male applicants continued to dominate placement to Degree programmes, sustaining a trend that has been observed since the beginning of the central placement system. In contrast, female students were the majority of those placed in TVET, from the 2020/2021 cycle to the present,” said Wahome.

The KUCCPS CEO mentioned that the bachelor of education attracted the highest number of applicants in the 2024 placement.

“We will also give the students an opportunity to make their transfers. We will be opening the system from the fifth of June to allow those students who wish to make their transfers to do so,” the KUCCPS CEO added.
