The UDA MP was mong the lawmakers that voted in favour of the Finance Bill 2024.

Kenyans have expressed mixed reactions after Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa called for a meeting with his constituents following his vote in favour of the controversial Finance Bill 2024, which has since been rejected by President William Ruto.

In a social media post on Saturday, June 29, Barasa called for a public meeting at Kimilili T-junction near Katiba Grounds at 2pm.“Public engagement and rally. Kimilili T-junction next to the infamous Katiba Grounds. Saturday 29th June 2024 2 pm,” the Kimilili MP’s poster read.

The public meeting has attracted numerous reactions from Kenyans with some netizens asking Kimilili residents not to allow the UDA lawmaker to address them.

Other X users urged the Kimilili locals to boycott the meeting since Barasa voted for the Finance Bill despite the majority of Kenyans opposing it.
