The Russia and Ukraine embassies in Kenya have cautioned their citizens against accessing the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) on Tuesday, July 2.
In separate statements, the two nations disclosed that the travel advisory was due to possible protests in the city.
They urged the citizens to continue taking precautions and monitor updates from Kenyan law enforcement agencies.
"To the attention of Russian citizens located in Kenya: There is currently an increased risk of mass demonstrations in Nairobi and other cities in Kenya. July 2, 2024, it is recommended not to visit the central area of Nairobi. Please continue to take precautions," read a statement by the Russian Embassy in Kenya.
The Ukraine Embassy in Kenya stated: "In connection with the possible holding of protest actions in the city of Nairobi on July 2-04, 2024, we advise you, if possible, to refrain from visiting the central part of the city and carefully monitor information from Kenyan law enforcement agencies."

The advisories come even as a section of Kenyans on social media planned to hold protests even after the contentious Finance Bill 2024 was withdrawn by President William Ruto.
Meanwhile, the situation in Nairobi CBD remained calm on Tuesday morning with anti-riot police officers patrolling the area.
On Sunday, June 30, President Ruto disclosed that he was ready to meet Gen Zs on X space for a conversation.
"I promised that I will engage the young young people. If they want to engage me on X, I will be there," the president remarked.
