Azimio leader Raila Odinga has claimed that he has not forwarded any names to President William Ruto for consideration in cabinet positions.
In a statement on Tuesday, July 23, Raila maintained that his position and that of his ODM party was that critical issues raised earlier must be addressed by the government before any form of engagement.
"We know exactly where the problems lie in this government and the loopholes that successive governments have exploited to plunder taxpayers' money. These issues were eradicated during the Government of National Unity, leading to economic growth under Kibaki's administration. Unfortunately, these problems have resurfaced, and the Gen-Z movement is right to demand an end to them," Raila remarked.
The former Prime Minister further affirmed that his ODM party and Azimio coalition were in solidarity with the issues raised by the young generation.
"Our commitment to the causes championed by Gen-Z remains steadfast. These are the same issues we have long been fighting for, including during last year's Maandamano protests," he added.

At the same time, the ODM leader warned his party members against joining the government backing an earlier statement by the party's secretary general Edwin Sifuna.
Raila's remarks came after a section of ODM leaders clashed over the proposed broad-based government by President Ruto.
"Taking a cabinet secretary position in the name of ODM betrays the principles of the Constitution and the progressive movement which the party represents. It's absolute treachery and an act of political cannibalism," Siaya Governor James Orengo stated.
The ODM leader had initially backed the move by the Head of State but he sent mixed signals on Sunday, July 21, after issuing fresh demands before any dialogue with Ruto's government.
President Ruto has already appointed 11 cabinet nominees, including six from his previous cabinet.
