Jumwa was among 10 former CSs who did not make it to the new broad-based cabinet.

President William Ruto promised former Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa that he would not abandon her after she missed the Cabinet nominations. 

Speaking on Friday, July 26 in Watamu market, Kilifi County, President Ruto vowed to walk hand in hand with Jumwa.

The Head of State described the former Malindi MP as a powerful lady assuring her he will not leave her in the cold.

"I want to thank my sister Aisha Jumwa, she is a strong woman. I want to assure you all that this lady will walk with me side by side, I won't leave her behind. Isn't she a strong woman?” Ruto posed.

Jumwa who joined President Ruto in the event thanked him for giving her the opportunity to serve in the cabinet.

The former CS also lauded Ruto for nominating Joho and Salim Mvurywa to serve in the new cabinet.

"I want to take this opportunity to thank President William Ruto for giving me an opportunity to be a Cabinet Secretary in his government. It was a great honour. I trust the president. I thank him for nominating Hassan Joho and Salim Mvurya in his new cabinet. I am satisfied," she remarked.

Jumwa who is a close ally of President Ruto was among 10 former CSs who did not make it to the new broad-based cabinet.

On Thursday a section of Kilifi residents staged protests and demanded that President Ruto nominate Jumwa back to cabinet.

On July 19, Jumwa was heckled by youth in Kilifi after she said the President is aware of her capabilities and could reinstate her.
