Successful enumerators will be paid Ksh1,000 per day and a transport allowance of Ksh500 per day.

The State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs has announced the recruitment of enumerators and enumerator supervisors in 12 counties. 

In a notice on Tuesday, August 6, the enumerators will work for a period of 21 days in carrying out data collection in the counties.

The counties include Uasin Gishu, Bomet, Nyeri, Nakuru, Siaya, Kiambu, Nandi, Nairobi, Embu, Busia, Trans Nzoia and Kericho.

"The State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs will be recruiting casuals for twenty-one (21) days to serve as enumerators to carry out data collection in the counties of Uasin Gishu (658), Bomet (521), Nyeri (312), Nakuru (1,002), Siaya (495), Kiambu (833), Nandi (432), Nairobi (1,495), Embu (276), Busia (730), Trans Nzoia (425) and Kericho (380),” read part of the notice.

For the supervisory roles, the number of positions is as follows: Uasin Gishu (66), Bomet (53), Nyeri (32), Nakuru (101), Siaya (50), Kiambu (84), Nandi (44), Nairobi (150), Embu (28), Busia (73), Trans Nzoia (43) and Kericho (38).

For one to qualify for the enumerator position, they should have a mean grade of C- (minus) in their secondary education, be computer literate, be a resident of the enumeration area and have a good command of the local language.

Successful enumerators will be paid Ksh1,000 per day payable at the end of the 21 days and a transport allowance of Ksh500 per day. They will also be provided with airtime.

On the other hand, for one to qualify as a supervisor, they should have a mean grade of C (plain) in their secondary education, be computer literate, be a resident of the enumeration area, and have a good command of the local language as well.

Successful enumerator supervisors will be paid Ksh1,300 per day payable at the end of the 21 days and a transport allowance of Ksh1,000 per day. They will also be provided with airtime.

Interested persons are required to submit their applications online through the state department's website i.e. https://www.socialprotection.go.ke before August 26, 2024.

"Hard copies shall not be accepted. The deadline for the application is on 26th August 2024. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to appear in person before the interview/recruitment panels," the department stated.
