Nearly 20 Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers have been injured after the truck they were traveling was involved in an accident on Monday, August 12 in the Gatithi area along the Sagana-Karatina highway in Kirinyaga County.

According to a witness, the KDF truck was travelling from Karatina to Sagana when it hit a bump, lost control and rolled several times.

"The driver probably didn't see the bump and hit it. When he hit the bump, the vehicle lost control and fell into a ditch. The soldiers who were there were thrown out. When the vehicle stopped, we rushed to try and save them,” the witness recounted.
