Successful candidates will participate in the 12-month internship programme in both the public and private sectors.

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Authority has announced internship opportunities under the Digital Talent Internship Programme (PDTP).

In a notice on Tuesday, August 27, the authority disclosed that the government was looking for young, talented Kenyans with a passion for ICT and public service.

Successful candidates will participate in the 12-month internship programme in both the public and private sectors.

“The objective of the programme is to develop and prepare young ICT graduates to take up employment and entrepreneurship opportunities that come up in the ICT as well as other sectors,” part of the notice read.

The ICT authority noted that it was seeking to recruit 150 interns in Network & Digital Infrastructure and 100 interns in Software Development & AI.

At the same time, the authority will recruit 50 interns in Information Security, 50 in Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing and Data Analytics, and another 50 in Data Analytics.

To be eligible for the programme, one must have graduated and attained First or Upper Second-Class Honors (or the equivalent) from a recognized institution in the last two years (from Jan 2022).

Applicants waiting for graduation (till December 2024) are required to provide a recommendation/reference letter signed & stamped by the university and a transcript indicating a First or Upper Second-Class Honors degree will be awarded.

The applicants should be recent graduates in BSc. ICT or Engineering (Electrical & Electronics, Telecommunication, Software) with a thorough knowledge of the fields mentioned above.

They should also be aged between 21 and 29 and not have undertaken any other internship program in the government, including the Public Service Commission (PSC).

Additionally, the applicants should be willing and ready to be deployed in any government organization (MCDAs) within the 47 counties on a full-time basis from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Interested candidates are required to complete the online application form via https://digitalent.go.ke/ and attach relevant documents as indicated in the form.

The deadline for the application will be Thursday, September 16, 2024.
