Nyandarua Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) have voted to impeach Speaker Wahome Ndegwa over gross misconduct.
27 out of 31 ward representatives present voted in support of the motion.
The impeachment brings to an end a long tussle between Wahome and Nyandarua MCAs who have made numerous attempts to remove him from office.
In January, the Nyandarua MCAs impeached Wahome despite a ruling by Nakuru High Court judge Justice Joel Ngugi that gave the speaker seven days to respond to the allegations that he is accused of.
Wahome had moved to court to seek orders to bar the assembly from impeaching him arguing that they had not followed the right procedure.
