The injured passengers were rushed to the Molo Sub-county Hospital. 

Eleven passengers have been injured after being involved in an accident along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway on Saturday, September 14.

The accident happened after a lorry collided with a 14-seater Public Service Vehicle (PSV) in the Twin Bridge area.

In a statement, the Kenya Red Cross said the passengers were trapped in the wreckage before they were rescued.

The injured passengers were rushed to the Molo Subcounty Hospital for treatment by rescue teams from the Kenya Red Cross and Kenya police.

No fatalities have been reported in the morning accident.

“11 injured individuals have been taken to Molo Subcounty Hospital by the Kenya Red Cross and the Police,” Kenya Red Cross stated.

Meanwhile, the accident scene has been has been cleared by the police.

The accident comes a day after 6 pupils were killed in a tragic hit-and-run accident at the Wiitu shopping center along the Kitui-Kibwezi road, in Kitui County.

Ikutha Deputy County Commissioner Vincent Lomachary confirmed the accident saying the pupils were struck by a speeding Probox vehicle while they were crossing the road.

Lomachary said that out of the six, three were pupils at Kyaoni Primary School, while the other three were students at Kyaoni Secondary School.

Following the accident, the driver of the vehicle sped off but later surrendered himself to the police.

The vehicle has since been impounded as investigations into the incident continue.
