KeNHA Announces Traffic Disruption Along Mombasa Road for 32 Days

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a 32-day traffic disruption along a section of Mombasa Road.

In a notice issued on Friday, September 13, the road agency revealed that the disruption would be occasioned by the planned construction of a footbridge foundation near the Syokimau Railway Station.

Additionally, KeNHA indicated that it would be realigning part of the road during the 32 days.

According to the notice, the planned construction and maintenance works will begin on Friday, September 20 and end on Tuesday, October 22.

"KeNHA wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) near Syokimau Railway Station, will experience traffic disruption along the Nairobi-bound lanes from Friday, September 20, 2024, to Tuesday, October 22, 2024," read the notice in part.

"This is to allow for realignment of the road and construction of a mid-span footbridge foundation at the median between the Nairobi bound lanes and the adjacent Nairobi Expressway fence."

Consequently, motorists were advised to exercise caution during the 32 days to avoid causing jams.

KeNHA also noted that there will be traffic marshalls to guide motorists plying the route during the maintenance and construction work.

"We advise motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan below and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site," the road agency cautioned.
