The National Police Service (NPS) has affirmed that it is committed to keeping the country safe, reassuring members of the public of their safety.
In a statement on Saturday, September 14, the National Police Service (NPS) assured the public that it is collaborating with other security agencies at various levels to ensure the safety of the country.
"The National Police Service would like to take this opportunity to reassure members of the public of their safety and security, and reaffirm that NPS officers deployed across the country remain alert to protect our country.
"The National Police Service is committed to the multi-agency security strategy and is working closely with other security agencies at national, regional and international levels as well as members of public, through intelligence-led policing," read part of the statement.
NPS urged members of the public to cooperate with the police by reporting any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station or through the toll-free numbers 112, 991, and 999.

This follows a security alert issued by the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi on Saturday, advising American citizens to exercise caution due to 'risks of terrorism and kidnappings.'
The embassy claimed that locations frequented by American citizens and other tourists continue to be targets of terrorist groups.
"The U.S. Embassy in Nairobi reminds U.S. citizens in Kenya that they should exercise increased caution due to the risks of terrorism and kidnapping. Locations frequented by U.S. citizens and other foreigners and tourists in Nairobi and elsewhere in Kenya continue to be targets to terrorists.
"Terrorist groups could attack with little or no warning, targeting hotels, embassies, restaurants, malls and markets, schools, police stations, places of worship, and other places frequented by foreigners and tourists," read part of the alert.
The U.S. Embassy asked the Americans to stay alert in areas frequented by foreigners, review their local security plans and always monitor the media for updates and alerts.
