KeNHA has announced a month-long traffic disruption along the Kisumu Boys–Mamboleo section of the A1 Road.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a month-long traffic disruption along the Kisumu Boys–Mamboleo section of the A1 Road, citing ongoing construction and improvement works.

In a notice re-shared on Tuesday, August 5, the Authority indicated that the temporary closure will run from Thursday, August 7, to Friday, September 5, 2025.

The project will involve scheduled construction activities aimed at upgrading the road.

During the period, motorists will be redirected through designated side roads and the existing dual carriageway to allow continued traffic flow.

KeNHA has advised road users to adhere to the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with traffic marshals and police officers stationed along the affected stretch.

The Authority further urged the public to exercise caution and patience throughout the construction phase, noting that the improvements are part of broader efforts to enhance road safety and efficiency in the region.

In the same line of road maintenance projects, motorists using the Thika–Garissa (A3) Road were advised to brace for traffic disruptions over the next three months as the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) begins critical repairs on the Kavenge (Mbakini) Bridge near Mbakini Centre.

KeNHA announced that the bridge will be closed to replace girders and the bridge deck. The scheduled maintenance started on Saturday, July 26, 2025, and is expected to conclude by Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Meanwhile, in the coastal region, the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) issued a six-month road closure for the Links Road in Nyali, Mombasa County.

The closure took effect from 6:00 AM on Friday, August 1, 2025, to 6:00 PM on Friday, January 30, 2026. KURA explained that the works aim to address the persistent flooding and drainage problems that have long plagued the area.
