The students embarked on a strike to demand the departure of their principal.
St Monica Girls High School in Kitale is now out of bounds for learners until further notice.
The action by the school's administration followed a bout of riots on Sunday morning, September 22.
Sources indicated that the students went on a rampage to protest a supposed maladministration on the part of the current principal, Madam Grace Ataro.
They left writings on the whiteboard expressing their dissatisfaction with the principal.
"Reject Ataro today," the whiteboard partly read.
The students were captured in amateur videos leaving the precincts of the school with their belongings.
This came a week after a Nairobi school was closed indefinitely.
An unrest was reported on September 15 at Dagoretti High School, where at least 11 students were injured after a fight.
Following the incident, police were deployed to restore order and the injured students were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The fight erupted after a clash between students during a basketball match escalated into a full-blown melee.
Students destroyed property at the school after the unrest.
Dagoretti South Member of Parliament John Kiare confirmed the incident, disclosing that considerable damage had been done at the school.
The lawmaker confirmed that, despite the unrest and property damage, there are no fatalities reported, nor are there any instances of burning on the school premises.
