Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has stated that he is unaware of the whereabouts of Della Ward MCA Yussuf Hussein Abdi who has been reported missing for more than two weeks.
The CS made the statement while appearing before the National Assembly Committee on National Security on Thursday, September 26, where he was asked to clarify claims of possible abduction of the MCA by security officers.
Kindiki stated that he would not participate in a plan that could endanger an innocent citizen, further committing to providing an updated report on the status of the investigations related to the case.
"I want to plead with a committee to give me time to prepare a statement. I'm aware of the matter but I need an updated verifiable statement. I'm aware of what happened and I'm aware that some progress is being made to make sure that there is accountability," Kindiki told the committee.

Yussuf went missing on September 13, 2024, after being allegedly abducted in Nairobi's South B Estate.
He was last seen being forcibly taken from a taxi by armed individuals who blocked the vehicle with two SUVs on Enterprise Road.
Eyewitness accounts describe a harrowing scene where five masked men removed him from the cab at gunpoint, subsequently driving away with him.
Yussuf's family has since filed a petition in the High Court, demanding that authorities either produce him or explain his detention, citing violations of his constitutional rights.
In their plea, supported by an affidavit from the MCA's cousin, Abdikadir Abdulahi Ahmed, the family argues that his detention, if confirmed, is illegal and unconstitutional.
They fear that law enforcement may be involved in his disappearance, as no charges or investigations against him were reported prior to the abduction.
"It is illegal and unconstitutional for the IG and the DCI to treat Yusuf as a second-class citizen and subject him to inhumane and degrading treatment," the petition read.
The case sparked widespread outrage and calls for accountability from both the public and political leaders, emphasizing the need for urgent action to locate him and address the growing issue of forced disappearances.
