THE IG has ordered for the arrest of MPs; Ndindi Nyoro and Alice Wahome over the violence.

Deputy President William Ruto has condemned violence that was witnessed in Murang’a on Sunday ahead of his event in the area.

The DP asked for forgives, noting that it was inappropriate for police to teargas residents who had gathered in a church.

The DP vowed to ensure that the same never happens again.

“I ask you for your forgiveness; the people of Murang’a and Kenol for the embarrassment that we saw here in the morning. That officers who get paid by taxpayers’ money can come to this place and teargas the church is something that shouldn’t have happened and will not happen again,” the DP said as quoted by Nation.

According to the police, the violence erupted following a clash between leaders allied to the Kieleweke and Tangatanga factions.

In a tweet, the IG ordered for the arrest of the two, adding that police should track vehicles hired to ferry the goons to help with the investigations.

“The @IG_NPS has directed that Members of Parliament (Mps) Hon. Ndindi Nyoro and Hon. Alice Wahome to be tracked and arrested immediately for mobilizing goons who caused mayhem at Kenol this morning… Equally the motor vehicles which were hired to ferry goons be tracked and detained to assist in Investigation,” the National Police Service tweeted.
