Deputy Presiden Rigathi Gachagua will be gracing the 34th diocesan anniversary celebrations of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Diocese of Embu on Sunday, October 13.
In a communique seen by Nairobi Leo, the deputy president will arrive at 9:00 a.m. at St Mark's Teachers' Training College grounds in Kigari.
"Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will tomorrow (Sunday October 13, 2024) attend Church Service and the 34th Anniversary Celebrations of the ACK Embu Diocese at St.Mark Teachers' Training College, Embu County, at 9:00am," it read.
Gachagua's confirmation of his attendance came hours after his boss, President William Ruto, cancelled his attendance.

The president had been slated to be the chief guest until he nullified the plans at the last minute.
Manyatta Constituency MP Gitonga Mukunji had earlier confirmed the president's attendance.
"I know the president is visiting on Sunday. We will be there to engage him on the issues pertinent to our constituency because we gave him our votes," Mukunji said in a public rally.
It was not established immediately why the president cancelled his visit to Embu.
The two leaders previously accompanied each other to churches and other events until their relationship started getting sour.
Their differences ended in Gachagua's impeachment.
His fate now lies with the Senate, which will probe him in plenary sessions before a verdict is realised.
Gachagua was impeached by 282 MPs on October 8.
