The closure also comes after some workers of the club clashed with officials of the county government on Saturday night.

Environment Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has ordered the closure of the Fay Bistro Club in Kilimani Estate due to noise pollution.

In a statement, the CS noted that the establishment had violated various laws governing the operations of entertainment joints regarding noise pollution.

Following Duale's order, officials from Nairobi County and the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) were on site on Sunday, October 20, to enforce the closure.

Further, the CS cautioned other establishments within various estates of similar action should they violate the law.

"I have ordered the immediate closure of Fay's Bistro club in Kilimani, Nairobi, for noise violations. The NEMA Director General, accompanied by the NEMA Police unit, is on-site to enforce the closure," the CS noted.

"Let this serve as a stern warning to all clubs operating in residential areas: any that continue to play loud music will face the same action. This impunity will not be tolerated!"

Notably, officials from the county government led by the Environment Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria were at the establishment on Saturday, October 19 to issue a warning over the playing of old music.

In the incident that was captured on video, some of the workers at the club argued with the county officials, sparking an uproar among Kenyans.

In recent months, the county government has been working to relocate entertainment joints from residential areas to the CBD owing to noise complaints from Kenyans.

However, the move has faced resistance from some of the club owners.
