Diani Beach and Nairobi emerged as leading destinations in Africa during the World Travel Awards 2024.

As revealed in the awards list, Diani, which is located in Kwale County, was named the leading beach destination for 2024.

The beach bagged the award owing to its scenic view and the warm experience tourists get when visiting the beach.

“It has been a privilege to welcome our winners from every corner of Africa to celebrate with us in Kenya’s beautiful Diani Beach. The incredible evening will live long in everyone’s memory," Graham Cooke, the Founder of the World Travel Awards.

Meanwhile, Nairobi was named the leading business travel destination in Africa for 2024.

Apart from Diani Beach and Nairobi, other notable locations and organisations were recognised for their excellence in tourism across the world.

For instance, Fairmont The Norfolk was named Africa's leading city for the year.

On the other hand, Tribe Hotel in Nairobi was recognised in the continent for its architectural design.

In terms of airlines, Jambo Jet was recognised as Africa's low-cost airline of 2024 while Kenya Airways airline brand of the year.
