The institution has responded to claims of planning to transfer students to other universities.

Moi University has refuted reports that it is planning to transfer its students to other universities over allegations of financial difficulties.

In a statement on Friday, November 1, Moi University Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kosgey affirmed that the institution was not intending to make the move.

Kosgey maintained that Moi University was committed to providing quality education and ensuring that students continue with learning smoothly without disruption.

"Moi University wishes to address and refute recent false claims circulating in various media and social media platforms regarding alleged plans to transfer students to other universities. We want to assure our community, including students and parents, that these claims are entirely unfounded and do not reflect the university's intentions or actions.

"Moi University is committed to providing quality education and ensuring that our students can continue their academic journey without disruption," Kosgey remarked.

The vice chancellor further maintained that the institution was working with relevant authorities to resolve issues that led to its closure.

Kosgey stated that the university was optimistic that learning would resume as soon as possible and noted that updates will be provided regarding the same.

"We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our students and their families for their patience and understanding during this time. We are dedicated to keeping you informed and will provide updates as necessary via our website and official university social media platform," Kosgei explained.

On October 3, Moi University was closed indefinitely following a prolonged lecturers' strike that led to the strike of the students.

The lecturers and workers at the institution downed their tools over delayed salaries, something that crippled learning at the institution.
