Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has broken his silence following Kithure Kindiki's swearing-in as deputy president.
In an update on Friday, November 1, Gachagua noted that he was grateful for his family, adding that he was looking forward to spend time exploring the scenery of Mt. Kenya.
"Home Sweet Home. Thanking God for the gift of my family. The smell of fresh grass and the sounds of chirping birds is what a happy family needs. I will remain forever grateful to God, for giving me a loving and supportive family.
"We are happy to be home, where I was born and brought up! I can’t wait for the morning to take my walk in Hombe Forest, enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mt Kenya as I thank God for His kindness. God Bless Kenya," Gachagua wrote on Facebook.

This came moments after his spouse, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi also issued a statement in the wake of Kindiki's swearing-in.
In a social media post, Pastor Dorcas shared two Bible verses and expressed that her family was grateful to God.
"We Give God all the glory. It is easy to look at the challenges and circumstances surrounding you and forget the cardinal rule of a believer. Today, my family and I choose to give a prayer of thanksgiving, understanding that, God remains sovereign, whether He saves us from fire or not, Daniel 3:16-18. We give thanks to God for His awesome faithfulness. We call Him, Ebenezer, for this far we celebrate Him. We have seen His mercy and experienced His goodness. Glory and honour be to His Holy name," she wrote in part.
Pastor Dorcas added, "Like Job 13:15-16. Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face. Indeed, this will turn out for my deliverance, for no godless person would dare come before him! We appreciate your love and prayers. May God bless you all."
Kindiki was sworn in as Kenya's Deputy President on Friday, November 1, at KICC, Nairobi.
He took two oaths: the oath of allegiance and the oath of office, committing to uphold the Constitution and serve the people diligently.
Kindiki expressed gratitude to God and President Ruto for the opportunity to serve in this high office, emphasizing his dedication to national unity and public service.
"Words fail me to explain how grateful I am today. I will say that I am grateful to Almighty God who orders the steps and affairs of every human being on earth. I am grateful to you sir for the honour you have given me to serve under you," he said.
