President William Ruto on Thursday, November 14, chaired a Cabinet meeting in State House, Nairobi.
According to a despatch from the meeting, the government is negotiating additional bilateral labour agreements to expand its labour export market.
In light of the labour export expansion, the Cabinet announced fresh recruitments of Kenyans for foreign jobs from November 18 to December 6, 2024.
The Cabinet disclosed that the opportunities encompass a wide range of roles, including professional, skilled, and unskilled positions, such as nurses, aged-care workers, teachers, culinary artists, chefs, drivers among other unspecialized roles, and the recruitment centers will be stationed across all counties.
"The Cabinet noted that Kenya was negotiating additional bilateral labour agreements to expand its labour export market beyond the traditional destinations of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Bahrain, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar. New potential markets under negotiation include Russia, Poland, and Jordan," read part of the Cabinet despatch.

It added, "The Cabinet encouraged all eligible Kenyans to seize these opportunities, which would not only create pathways for employment but also facilitate skills and technology transfer to Kenya. A new wave of recruitment will take place between 18th November and 6th December 2024, with the recruitment centers being stationed in all counties across the Republic."
The cabinet was informed that since July 2023, a total of 105,367 Kenyans had been placed in various job opportunities across multiple countries.
This comes after a Qatari company, in conjunction with the Ministry of Labour, recently conducted mass interviews for jobs in Qatar.
Labour CS Alfred Mutua has since announced that all successful candidates in the roles will be notified through phone calls.
