These changes came days after protesters stormed the governor's office over alleged mismanagement of public funds.

Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has made changes in his Cabinet following protests in the county over non-development and corruption issues.

In a statement on Thursday, November 21, the Governor reassigned Alfred Kiprotich Lagat as CECM for Lands, Environment, and Climate Change while Dr. Philemon Kiptoo Bureti has been reassigned as CECM for Trade, Enterprise Development, and Tourism.

On the other hand, Sang retained Isaiah Kiplagat Keter as CECM for Administration, Public Service, and ICT, and assigned him as Acting CECM for Transport and Infrastructure.

Rose Eboso Angira has been reassigned as CECM for Sports, The Arts, and Youth Affairs while Scholastica Chepkosgei Tuwei has been reassigned as CECM for Culture, Gender, and Social Welfare and assigned as Acting CECM for Education and Vocational Training.

Sang also assigned his deputy, Dr. Yulita Mitei to act as the County Executive Member responsible for Health and Sanitation.

Additionally, the Governor reassigned Beatrice N. J. Chemurgor and Benjamin Kiprotich as Chief Officer for Education and Vocational Training and Chief Officer for Culture, Gender, and Social Welfare respectively.

Sang also reassigned Caroline Chepchirchir Lagat as Chief Officer for Trade, Enterprise Development and Tourism and Dr. Paul Sanga as Chief Officer for Agriculture and Cooperative Development.

Joseph Kipchumba Cheruiyot has been reassigned as Chief Officer for Sports, The Arts, and Youth Affairs, according to the statement.

"In accordance with Section 47 of the County Government Act, 2012, and Section 126(1) of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012, I am currently evaluating the performance of both the County Executive Committee Members and the Chief Officers, where the findings will inform further appropriate changes and actions that are intended to enhance efficiency and productivity in service delivery," the statement read in part.

Sang also announced the resignation of two County Executive Committee Members; Eng. Drice Kibet Rono: the County Executive Member responsible for Transport and Infrastructure and Ruth Cherotich Koech: the County Executive Member responsible for Health and Sanitation.

These changes came days after protests erupted in Nandi County as demonstrators stormed Sang's office, demanding accountability for the alleged mismanagement of public funds.

The GenZ protestors accused the governor of failing to implement critical projects and called for a forensic audit of county finances.

Sang engaged with the protesters, promising dialogue and addressing their grievances, while also claiming that some demonstrators were politically motivated rivals.

"I am ready to engage with you in a dialogue and you have the right to be heard. I have come here because you Gen Zs should be heard by the government. I want you to tell me in what way we can engage in a meaningful dialogue," he said.
