President William Ruto has revealed 13 criminal gangs that terrorized Kenyans between September 2023 and August 2024.
In his annual report submitted to Parliament on Thursday, November 21, Ruto highlighted Gaza, T9, Kabaridi, and Trouble Monkey Brothers to have operated in Nairobi within that period.
In the Coast region, the Head of State listed Wakali Kwanza, Team Somba, Panga Boys, and Kaburi Moja to have been notorious during the review period.
Barsuliek and Mbio Mbaya operated in Uasin Gishu County while Cha Usiku Sacco dominated criminal operations in Kakamega County.

Meanwhile, Sungu Sungu in Kisii County and Mungiki in Central Kenya were also listed in the annual report.
"Some of the gangs were involved in crimes such as; robberies, extortion, murder, drug trafficking, and looting during anti-Government protests," read the report in part.
"From September 2023 to August 2024, a total of 721 cases were recorded compared to 1,113 cases recorded in a similar period from September 2022 to August 2023. This was a decrease of 392 cases translating to 35.3 per cent."
Further, the President detailed some of the reasons that occasioned the gang activities. They included school dropouts, unemployment, drug abuse and funding by politicians.
"To counter criminal gangs, the Government has enhanced intelligence gathering and sharing," he noted in his report.
"To further address the threat, the Government will continue to strengthen youth outreach and socio-economic programs and intensify co-ordinated multi-agency security operations against gang activity."
