The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned of high daytime temperatures expected in parts of the Coast, North Eastern and North Western regions.

In a weather forecast report on Monday, December 9, the weatherman disclosed that the daytime temperatures in the regions will exceed 30°C for the next seven days.

"Average daytime (maximum) temperatures of more than 30°C will be experienced in the Coast, North-eastern and North-western Kenya," Kenya Met stated.

The counties in the Coast region that are likely to experience the high temperature conditions include Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, Tana River and Taita Taveta.

On the other hand, the North-eastern region counties to experience the conditions include Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo, while the North-western include Turkana and Samburu counties.

However, the weatherman noted that some parts of the highlands east of the Rift Valley and the central Rift Valley are likely to experience low nighttime temperatures of below 10°C during the forecast period.

At the same time, Kenya Met disclosed that rainfall is expected to continue over some parts of the Lake Victoria Basin, the highlands East of the Rift Valley, the South Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands and the Coast. 

"Other areas across the country are likely to remain sunny and dry during this period," Kenya Met explained.

Meanwhile, the weatherman noted that in its review, rainfall was recorded in some parts of the Lake Victoria Basin, the South Rift Valley, the highlands east of the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands and the Coast in the past week.
