Chief Justice Martha Koome has made changes to the judiciary, transferring several high court judges to new stations.
The transfers, communicated through a notice signed by Principal Judge of the High Court Justice Eric Ogola on Tuesday, December 17, involve 33 judges who will take up new assignments across various courts.
According to the notice, Justice Alfred Mabeya has been transferred from the Commercial and Tax Division in Nairobi to Kisumu, where he will serve as Principal Judge while Justice Roselyne Aburili, previously stationed in Kisumu, will now head to the Judicial Review Division in Nairobi as Principal Judge.
Justice Edward Muriithi moves from Meru to Kerugoya, while Justice Cecilia Githua will remain in Murang’a, where she has been appointed as Principal Judge while Justice Christine Meoli, who has been serving in the Civil Division in Nairobi, has been transferred to Kajiado as Principal Judge.
On the other hand, Justice Roselyne Korir moves from Bomet to Chuka, and Justice Stella Mutuku, who was stationed in Kajiado, will now join the Civil Division in Nairobi.

Justice Esther Maina, formerly serving in the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Division in Nairobi, has been reassigned to Machakos as Principal Judge while Justice Charles Kariuki has been moved from Nyandarua to Narok as Principal Judge.
Similarly, Justice Lilian Mutende will take up her new role in Nyahururu, leaving her previous posting in the Criminal Division in Nairobi with Justice Francis Gikonyo, previously based in Narok, heading to the Commercial Division in Nairobi as Principal Judge.
Justice Kiarie W. Kiarie has been transferred from Homa Bay to Nyandarua, while Justice Jairus Ngaah will leave the Judicial Review Division in Nairobi to serve in Mombasa as Principal Judge.
The notice further states that Justice Robert Limo, formerly of Kitui, will take up his new role in Kitale while Justice Lucy Njuguna will move from Embu to the Anti-Corruption Division in Nairobi as Principal Judge.
Justice Mugure Thande will remain in Malindi but has now been appointed as Principal Judge.
Justice Lucy Gitari, previously stationed in Chuka, has been reassigned to Kitui with Justice Richard Mwongo transferred from Kerugoya to Embu.
While Justice James Wakiaga will now leave Murang’a for Nairobi to serve in the Criminal Division, Makadara, Justice Jesse Nyaga has been moved from Marsabit to Garsen.
Additionally, Justice Stephen Githinji leaves Malindi to take up his new posting in Meru while Justice Olga Sewe, who was based in Mombasa, will now serve in Homa Bay.
Justice David Kipyegon Kemei on the other hand has been transferred from Bungoma to Siaya as Principal Judge and Justice Olel Francis Odhiambo has been reassigned from Machakos to Marsabit.
Further, Justice Margaret Muigai will leave Machakos for the Criminal Division in Nairobi, where she will also be in charge of Community Service Orders.
The notice also showed that Justice Antony Mrima has been transferred from Kitale to the Civil Division in Nairobi and will also serve at the Judicial Service Commission.
Justice Francis Andayi has been moved from Mombasa to Kwale, while Justice Nixon Sifuna, formerly in the Commercial Division in Nairobi, will now serve in the Civil Division in Nairobi on deployment.
Justice Shariff Mwanaisha has been reassigned from Kisumu to Bungoma, and Justice Tabitha Ouya, who was stationed in the Civil Division in Nairobi, has been transferred to Murang’a.
While Justice Rhoda Rutto will leave the Commercial Division in Nairobi to take up her new assignment in Machakos, Justice Joe Omido has been transferred from the Civil Division in Nairobi to Kisumu.
Finally, Justice Julius Kipkosgei Ng’ang’ar, who was previously in Mombasa, will now serve in Bomet as Principal Judge.
