Outgoing Sports CS Kipchumba Murkomen has revealed that the government opted to ship various goods used in the renovation of stadiums by air instead of sea.
While addressing the media after the tour of the stadiums alongside Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe on Friday, December 20, the CS explained that the move was aimed at eliminating any delays in the delivery of the goods.
He expressed that the country was working around the clock to ensure that the renovations were completed on time ahead of the CHAN competitions in 2025.
"We have had the full support of the government. The President has dispensed all the resources required to make sure that we are ready," he stated.

"Where goods would have been shipped by sea, we have decided to ship by air to make sure that everything is ready. With government support, we are going to deliver CHAN on time."
Meanwhile, CAF President Patrice Motsepe confirmed that Kenya would be hosting the tournament in February next year as scheduled.
He made the remarks after reports emerged that Kenya would be denied the right to host the tournament in favour of Rwanda.
Earlier, the CAF officials met with Ruto at State House. At the meeting, the Head of State expressed confidence over the completion of the various facilities in reading for AFCON 2027 and CHAN 2025.
"Renovations at Moi Sports Centre Kasarani and Nyayo Stadium are progressing according to plan," Ruto stated.
"Ulinzi Sports Complex and Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi, and Kirigiti Stadium (Kiambu), which will be used for training ahead of CHAN, are also under renovation and will be ready ahead of the championships."
Kenya is pulling all the stops to be ready to host the African Nations Championships (CHAN) in February 2025. Consequently, renovations at Moi Sports Centre Kasarani and Nyayo Stadium are progressing according to plan.
