The duo also called upon Kenyans to commit acts of friendship and kindness to one another.

President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto have paid tribute to teachers and health workers in their festive season greetings to Kenyans.

In a video shared on Tuesday, December 24, the Head of State celebrated health workers' dedication and sacrifice in caring for Kenyans when sick.

According to Ruto, the government has made notable strides in the healthcare sector owing to the dedicated workforce.

"Because of their hard work determination and dedication, there is evidence before us that the work of building a stronger, more united secure, and prosperous Kenya is underway," he stated.

Further, he acknowledged the tremendous contribution of workers involved in the Affordable Housing Programme.

On her part, the First Lady opined that teachers were the cornerstone of society.

Based on her own experience as a teacher, she acknowledged that many tutors faced a challenge when teaching hungry children.

Consequently, she championed her Kitchen Garden project as a solution to the hunger problem facing students.

"Kenya's future is in the classroom. Having been a teacher, I understand how difficult it is to teach a hungry child. Our mission is to make sure that hunger does not get in the way of our children. A plate of food is power in a child's hand," she expressed.

On the other hand, as Kenyans continued with the festivities, the duo wished Kenyans a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

"This Christmas, let us remember that together we are unstoppable. Let our action affirm the unity, solidarity, and compassion. Do not hesitate to perform acts of friendship and kindness," Ruto added.
