East African Breweries Limited (EABL) brand manager Lilian Nyambura Mbugua, who disappeared from her family home in Gikono, Murang’a County, on December 23, 2024, has been found.
In an update on Tuesday, December 31, Murang'a South Deputy County Commissioner Gitonga Murungi confirmed that the 28-year-old was found alive and well.
According to Mbugua's family, Lilian Nyambura was found at a filling station in Maragua Town, Murang’a County. The 28-year-old is said to have been weak and confused.
On the day of her disappearance, she reportedly left the house around 5 PM, wearing a headscarf and slippers, suggesting she intended to return shortly.

Nyambura left behind her mobile phones, car keys, laptop, house keys, and identification documents.
"It seemed like an ordinary walk around the estate. Her mother was doing house chores in the backyard and didn’t think much of it," her uncle, George Njuguna, said.
Her family became concerned when she did not return and reported her missing to the Gikono police post on December 24, with the case later escalated to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenol.
In the course of asserting her whereabouts, police faced challenges due to the lack of devices to trace her movements.
“It is a hard inquiry because if we had a phone we could track or a known motor vehicle we could trace, it would be easier to narrow down our lines of investigation,” Constable Patrick Maina of Gikono Police Post said.
