Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has rubbished claims that he is behind the recent abductions.

Speaking in Embu County on Friday, January 3, Gachagua acknowledged that some leaders including Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah had claimed that he was behind the widespread abductions.

In response, he called on the leaders to be truthful, further calling on the government to facilitate the release of those who were allegedly abducted by security operatives.

"I have heard that MP, who Ruto uses, (Kimani Ichung'wah) say that I am behind the abductions, isn't that stupidity?

"Can you respect the people of Kenya? The people of Kenya are very intelligent. and you people are running out of lies. You have lied to people until you have started to believe the lies. Bring that boy home.

On the other hand, he called out local leaders including Embu Governor Cecil Mbarire for remaining silent over the abduction of Billiy Mwangi.

"It is very unfortunate that someone from this county can be abducted and yet the governor says nothing," he added.

Earlier, Ichung'wah, who was in the company of Ruto in Bungoma, claimed that Gachagua was behind the abductions.

According to the NA leader of the majority, the former DP was orchestrating the abductions to plane them on Ruto.

"Gachagua was the orchestrator of abductions so that he could blame President Ruto," the lawmaker claimed at the funeral of Moses Wetangula's mother.
