Cartoonist Gideon Kibet, popularly known as Kibet Bull, has been freed two weeks after being abducted in Nairobi.
In an update on his X account, the cartoonist confirmed his release, noting that he was dropped off at Luanda, Vihiga County around 3-4 AM on Monday morning.
Kibet Bull added that he then went to a local disco matanga where he stayed until 6AM when he booked a bus back home.
"They dropped me in Luanda, Vihiga at 3-4 AM today. I did not know whether to enter or book a room. I went to a disco matanga and danced until 6 AM when I went to book a ticket," he wrote on X.
Kibet Bull was reportedly abducted on December 24, 2024, by individuals suspected to be security officials shortly after meeting Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah at the senator's office in Nairobi.

Omtatah recounted his meeting with Kibet, adding that he believed he was tracked and abducted by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
"I strongly believe that Mr. Kibet was tracked and abducted by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations because, as soon as he arrived, my security informed me that they were monitoring a white Subaru, which was mounted with suspected spy communication gadgets used to intercept phone conversations," he stated.
Kibet Bull's release follows the release of four other abductees including his brother Ronny Kiplagat, Billy Mwangi, Bernard Kavuli, and Peter Muteti.
Ronny was located in Machakos County and has since rejoined his family while Billy returned to his father's home in Majengo.
On the other hand, Kavuli was found at Moi's Bridge and has been reunited with his family who were waiting for him at Ngong Police Station.
Muteti who was abducted on December 21, 2024, from his apartment near Nairobi, was released by his abductors in Nairobi and found his way home.
