Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has called out allies of President William Ruto for chest-thumping and misleading the Head of State.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, January 8, the lawmaker, opined that three Ruto allies would cost the President his reelection in 2027.

In his address, Sifuna named Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi, Tiaty MP William Kamket and COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli.

According to Sifuna, the recent public statements by the three were angering Kenyans.

He termed the recent remarks by the leaders as boastful noting that Kenyans were already angered by the policies of the Kenya Kwanza administration.

"Respect is earned. It is not something you force. Respect is earned from how you conduct yourself and how you relate with people," he stated.

"Unfortunately, he (Ruto) is surrounded by people who have decided to tear him down. They are going to take him down. If there is anybody to be blamed for a one-term presidency, it will be the likes of Kamket, Oscar Sudi and Atwoli."

In response to Kamket who called on the extension of the presidential term limit, Sifuna stated that Kenyans were no longer naive and timid.

He expressed that Kenyans understood the constitution and would not allow for a 24-year reign as was witnessed during the team of Moi.

"Kamket should be told that it will not happen. This is not 1980. The only way for any person to win a reelection is to do what you promised," the Senator added.
