Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga disrupted a prayer meeting at Kamukunji Grounds in Nyeri County, where Pastor Dorcas Rigathi was present.
Videos circulating online show Njenga arriving at the event with a group of youths, causing enough of a disturbance to temporarily halt the service.
Some of the youth with him were seen occupying the dais meant for the clergymen speaking at the gathering.
Njenga then walked into the tent where Pastor Dorcas was seated, prompting her to move to a different seat before eventually leaving the venue.
On Friday, January 17, Pastor Dorcas shared an invitation for the prayer event on her Facebook page.

"We are already preparing for tomorrow’s prayers at Kamukunji Stadium, Nyeri, and we warmly welcome you to join us for this special day of seeking God together. Let us come together in unity and faith as we lift our voices in prayer for our nation,” she said.
This comes barely a month after Njenga publicly declared his support for President William Ruto, urging residents of the Mt. Kenya region to back the President's administration.
Speaking during the National Prayers at Kabiruini in Nyeri, he emphasized the importance of unity and development, stating that he would support Ruto's initiatives in the region.
Njenga also addressed the issue of criticizing political leaders on social media, describing it as unproductive and urging the public to allow leaders to work without undue criticism.
"You are told to insult your leaders including members of the clergy on social media but that is utter stupideness. Is there any need to abuse leaders really? Let’s just let them work,” he said.
Njenga further mentioned plans to engage the government in completing projects such as the Mau Mau road and implementing reforms in the tea and coffee sectors.
Despite his support for Ruto, Njenga dismissed claims that he is the President's new point man in the Mt. Kenya region.
“I am aligning with Kenyans. Right now we want unity. I was an Azimio person," he said.
