"You can't win against a man who has nothing to lose."

Lawyer Saitabao Ole Kanchory has claimed that the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was the worst mistake President William Ruto made.

In a statement on Thursday, January 23, Kanchory asserted that President Ruto will not survive the onslaught of his former deputy.

The lawyer maintained that the head of state cannot win against an individual who has nothing to lose, claiming that Gachagua will cost him the presidency.

"Getting rid of Rigathi Gachagua is the worst mistake William Ruto made and he'll pay for it with his presidency. Ruto will not survive Gachagua's onslaught. You can't win against a man who has nothing to lose," Kanchory remarked.

The remarks come even as President Ruto and Gachagua continue to trade jabs publicly over a number of matters.

While speaking in Luanda, Vihiga County, on Wednesday, January 22, the head of state labelled the former deputy president as a tribalist.

At the time, President Ruto claimed that Gachagua was corrupt and incompetent and thus was unable to perform his duties while in office.

"There are some people who we gave them work and because of incompetence, not understanding anything, theft, conmanship, corruption, hatred, their plan and work flopped," President Ruto stated.

However, in a rejoinder on Thursday, January 23, Gachagua claimed that Kenyans were well aware of who was truly corrupt and incompetent in the country.

"When you talk about people who are corrupt and incompetent, just take the mirror and look at yourself because Kenyans know better. They know exactly where we are. People are very intelligent,” Gachagua remarked.
