The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced the registration dates for students who would like to sit for the newly launched KCSE mid-year series.
In a circular dated January 22, KNEC announced that the registration exercise would begin on Monday, January 27.
The registration exercise is scheduled to end on Friday, February 21, 2025.
"The registration process will be coordinated and conducted at County headquarters through the offices of County Directors of Education (CDEs) on the KNEC registration portal," read the circular in part.
"Candidates wishing to register for the July series are therefore expected to present themselves at their respective County headquarters within the stipulated period to complete the registration process."

Those who will be allowed to register and sit for the examinations include candidates of previous years who would like to resit, candidates who were unable to sit for previous exams due to illness and adults who are not regular schoolgoers but have relevant primary education certificates.
Required Documents for Registration
The documents required for registration include a national ID card or birth certificate. Candidates also have to provide their KCPE certificate and their KCSE result slip (for repeaters).
A passport photo is also required.
"The fees payable will be Ksh7,200 and shall be borne by the candidate. The fees shall be paid at the point of registration through E-Citizen, as per the details provided in the KNEC registration platform. Please note that fee payment is mandatory for successful registration," read the circular in part.
Exam Timetable
Projects for Art and Design, Agriculture, Woodwork, Metalwork, Building Construction, and Computer Studies will be administered between January and July 2025.
Theory and practical papers will be administered from July 1, 2025 and August 1, 2025.
"The candidates will sit for the regular KCSE examination papers in examination centres to be identified by the County Directors of Education. Candidates will only be allowed access to examination centres upon proof of their eligibility, including the use of a National Identity card/ birth certificate/ passport," read the circular in part.
"The theory and practical papers will be administered at County headquarters, while projects will be administered at the sub-county level, in institutions to be identified by the respective SCDEs. In this regard, all July series candidates registering for the subjects which have a project component (listed in 4.0) are expected to provide information on the sub-county which they will do their projects from, during registration."
