The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned of high daytime temperatures in five regions including the Coast.

In its weekly projections issued on Tuesday, February 4, Kenya Met projected daytime temperatures above 30 Degrees Celcius.

Areas also expected to experience high temperatures include North-Eastern, North-Western, South-Eastern Lowlands, and parts of the Highlands West of the Rift Valley.

Conversely, some regions will experience extremely cold nights with temperatures even dropping below 10 Degrees Celcius.

"Night-time temperatures below 10°C are likely in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, Central Rift Valley, and South-Eastern Lowlands," read the statement in part.

The affected counties in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley include Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Laikipia, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka-Nithi.

Therefore, residents in the affected areas were advised to keep warm during the night.

Meanwhile, most parts of the country are expected to witness sunny conditions during the week.

"Mostly sunny & dry conditions will prevail over most parts of the country. However, isolated rainfall is expected over parts of the southwestern region." Kenya Met added.
