The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has issued a warning regarding a fraudulent scheme promising upgrades to the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) grades.
In an update on Tuesday, February 4, KNEC alerted Kenyans to beware of scammers who are attempting to con individuals by offering fake certificate processing services.
A screenshot shared by KNEC shows a fabricated message claiming that candidates from the years 2000 to 2024 can have their KCSE grades upgraded.
However, KNEC has labeled this message as a "scam", reaffirming that it does not offer any form of grade alteration services.

This comes two days after KNEC issued a warning against the circulation of a fake post regarding payment for teachers who invigilated the 2024 national exams.
In an update on Saturday, February 1, the council took to its official X account to debunk the false information, labeling it as fake.
However, KNEC has categorically dismissed this information as false.
The misleading post falsely claimed that KNEC had not processed payments for examiners due to a lack of sufficient details.
