The Roots Party of Kenya has demanded a Ksh10 million payment in damages from lawyer Kepher Ojijo after his appearance on Citizen TV.

In a demand letter dated Friday, February 7, the party led by George Wajackoyah accused the lawyer of masquerading as the SG of the party.

The party noted that the lawyer had presented himself as a party official during the Friday morning show hosted by Trevor Ombija.

Consequently, Wajackoyah's party demanded that Ojijo refrain from claiming to be a party official.

"Accordingly, we have been instructed to demand from you, which we hereby do, a public apology to our client and to all TV stations," read the demand letter in part.

"Further, we demand a payment of Kenya shillings Ten Million (KES 10,000,000/-) to our client as damages for the public misrepresentation."

The lawyer was also given an ultimatum to comply with the demands of the party.

"Take notice that unless the aforestated demand is met within seven (7) days, our instructions are to take such steps in this matter as may be necessary including the institution of legal proceedings for damages while at all times holding you liable for the costs thereby incurred," read the letter in part.
