KQ emphasized that accurate job openings are updated on its official website.

National carrier Kenya Airways (KQ) has issued a warning to the public regarding an internal memo circulating on social media announcing job opportunities.

In a statement on Tuesday, February 11, KQ noted that the fake memo did not originate from the airline.

KQ emphasized that accurate job openings are updated on its official website and social media pages.

“Please be aware that the message circulating on social media regarding job openings at Kenya Airways is FAKE and did not come from us. For accurate and hiring information, always refer to our official website and channels,” read the statement by KQ.

The fake memo dated January 30 claimed that there were food service, flight attendant, reception, booking clerk, and security officer openings in KQ and that applicants must have a minimum qualification of “O” level with a grade of D+ or above.

There has been a recent increase in reports of job scams due to the rising number of unemployed young people in the country.

The job scams have targeted major companies and corporations in Kenya including KQ.

In November 2024, KQ flagged another job advertisement that was making rounds on social media claiming that there are vacant positions in the airline.

The national carrier clarified that the advertisement was fake and warned Kenyans from falling for it.
