Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) and Kenya School of Law (KSL) have partnered to launch a new law course for aspiring paralegals.
The institutions made the announcement on Monday, February 10, marking the first time they have collaborated to facilitate student placement for its Paralegal Training Programme (PTP).
In a statement, KUCCPS stated that eligible candidates include KCSE graduates from the year 2000 to 2024 who meet the minimum admission requirement of a C (plain) mean grade and at least C+ in English or Kiswahili.
The KUCCPS application portal https://students.kuccps.net/ opened on January 24, 2025, and will close on February 14, 2025.
KUCCPS said successful applicants will join the May 2025 intake.

The programme is designed to equip learners with practical legal skills for roles such as investigation officers, court clerks, legal assistants, and case management officers in both the public and private sectors, as well as civil society organizations.
The course is also open to professionals from other disciplines who wish to gain legal knowledge for career advancement or personal development.
The two-year diploma programme consists of three academic terms per year, each lasting 12 weeks, followed by a three-month industry attachment at the end of the second year.
According to KUCCPS, learning will take place at KSL’s Nairobi Town Campus through both physical day classes (9 AM – 12 PM or 2 PM – 5 PM, Monday to Thursday) and virtual evening classes (5 PM – 8 PM, Monday to Thursday).
The first-year tuition fee is Ksh 131,000, payable in three termly installments; first term Ksh 47,000, second term Ksh 42,000, and third term Ksh 42,000.
The second-year tuition fee is Ksh 136,000, payable in three installments; first term Ksh 47,000, second term Ksh 42,000, and third term Ksh 47,000.
The PTP programme aligns with the Kenya School of Law Act which mandates KSL to provide paralegal training to bridge the skill gap in the legal profession.
Interested students are encouraged to apply before the February 14 deadline to secure a spot in the May 2025 intake.
