Former US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman has sparked a discussion online after she attended the inaugural Kenya Rhino Range Expansion (KRRE) board meeting in Nairobi.
The meeting, held on Tuesday, February 11 was also attended by Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) Director General of Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), Erustus Kanga, and Kenya’s National Security Advisor to the President Ambassador Monica Juma.
Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association CEO Dickson Ole Kaelo, Wildlife Research and Training Institute CEO Patrick Omondi, and Ole Pejeta Conservancy CEO Justin Heath also attended the meeting.
Ambassador Whitman on November 2024 announced her resignation as the US Ambassador to Kenya following President Donald Trump's win in the US elections.
"Today, I announced to my team at the U.S. embassy that I submitted my resignation to President Biden. It has been an honour and privilege to serve the American people through strengthening our partnership with Kenya,” she announced.
