The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced the opening of the CBA portal for the registration of Grade 6 students.
In a notice dated Wednesday, February 12, the exam body explained that the portal had been opened for schools to register students with no assessment numbers.
KNEC cautioned that Grade 6 students without assessment numbers would not be able to register for the national assessment - Kenya Primary School Education Assessment [KPSEA] scheduled for later this year.
"The CBA portal is now open for registration of learners at Grade 3. The portal is also open for registration of learners in Grade 6 who have no assessment numbers. Schools are, therefore, advised to log into the portal and register their learners," read the notice in part.

"Please note that for a learner to be registered for KPSEA, they must be registered in the Grade 6 portal first and obtain an assessment number. Learners without assessment numbers will not be able to register for KPSEA."
On the other hand, KPSEA registration is currently ongoing with less than 16 days to the deadline.
The registration for the national assessment is set to close on Friday, February 28, 2025.
"Transfer of candidates must be done online and must be concluded before the closure of the registration portal on 28th February 2025. No transfer will be allowed after the closure of the registration portal."
"Heads of institutions must confirm from their school portals that the School Based Assessment (SBA) scores for Grades 4 and 5 are uploaded for all candidates registered for KPSEA," read the guidelines in part.
